there is Legionnaires' Disease! yes smoke and Legionnaires' Disease goes hand in hand in fact A 48-year-old man was admitted to Hospital Telemark in Skien on Wednesday suffering from Legionnaires' Disease. His illness is not linked to the infection outbreak in Østfold Country.
Hospital Telemark said Friday that another source is responsible for the man's illness, after charging the patient's recent movements.
The man had not been abroad except for Strömstad, just across the Swedish border, and had not been in the Fredrikstad-Sarpsborg area in Østfold, southeast Norway, where a large outbreak of Legionnaires' took place.
Clinic head Per Urdahl at Hospital Telemark said that physicians in the man's local municipality, and those locations he had recently visited, had been notified.
The man is from Nome in Telemark County and had also been camping in Åsgårdstrand in Vestfold County.
"The man is seriously ill but his condition on Friday is stable. His vital functions are satisfactory and the patient is responding well to treatment," Urdahl said.
Urdahl said that it is normal for the hospital to have one or two cases of Legionnaires' Disease per year, and that this was not necessarily an indication of a new outbreak witch means that we can all............
