I have a V800 that I've converted to a Z800 with no problems. Unfortunately the main screen was cracked so I ordered a new screen. My problem is that the new screen works with the exception of the backlight. Has anybody had a similar problem? I tried adjusting the brightness and I've reset the phone but no joy. Any help would be appreciated.

I resolved the problem. The fault lay in the harness where the LCD is held. I had a spare faulty V800, changed the offending part and voila! I'm becoming an expert in repairing v800/z800!!

You can get LCDs on Ebay for the V/Z800, just done a quick search on the UK site and there's one for £48 delivered, although postage to the US may well be more unless there's a US seller selling one. Also you could buy a dead V800 and cannibalise it for spares.

Though if you do the latter, I'd suggest first trying your battery fully charged in the 'faulty' phone, I've done that a couple of times on supposedly dead Nokias and they've fired into life!
