the wait is over.. here comes htc hermes to be launched by O2

"HTC Hermes is simply to good, for wireless carriers to give up on it, so also O2 Europe (Germany, UK, Ireland) is launching it under the name Xda trion:

One big surprise: O2 is launching it with processor 400 MHz from Samsung instead of 300 MHz mentioned by other operators and distributors! Samsung's 400 MHz processor is approximately the same speed as Intel Xscale 520 MHz. "

...and i-mate should be sellnig it as the JasJam, though I'm still waiting for it to appear on the i-mate website.

I will only buy the i-mate version as I eally dislike network branded phones

looks good, i hope it definately comes to o2 uk though. As the imate jam (XDA mini) was never released by o2 uk even though both o2 germany and holland released it. o2 uk did release the htc wizard though (XDA mini s) - so hopefully they will. I also hate the crap that the network opperators stick on these devices my old imate jam which i bought from orange as the SPV M500 was totaly usless and unstable untill i flashed it with a qtek rom. Wish opperators would learn to not mess with the firmware and roms on phones! Having said that i would still get the o2 version simply because i can get it cheaply as an upgrade on my account and within a few weaks of it's release the qtek or imate roms will be available on the internet.

@welsch.. yeah.. I really like qtek roms.. hopefully it will be offered in o2 UK..

i don't know if it will ever geto to the Philippines.. I remember the last Smartphone offered in philippine martek is the XphoneII and the last PPC offered in the Phils is XDA Mini.. I heard, some of my friends started seeing dopod 818, 838 and 900 in some stores.. so hopefully this hermes will make its way to all of us.

no definate word as of yet on release date. some people are saying they have been told the end of may (looking unlikely now) others have been told Q3 i.e. august. I think it is not far away now though with opperators (such as o2 today) confirming specs and official picstures of the device.
