Hi Guys

i wonder if anyone could shed some light on this problem.

i have recently bought a v600i from eBay, which when received
was in appalling condition, the case was knackered, the LCD screen
was smashed. I replaced the case and LCD with OEM items.

the problem that i have is, although the phone is unlocked, when i
insert my t-mobile sim, the only time i get a signal is when 3G is enabled.
i have no use for 3G and afaik t-mobile don't "do" 3G.

when i disable 3G and select GSM network only, the signal indicator
goes down a bar at a time and then disappears, leaving me with no
signal strength, and thus, no way to operate the phone.

i also own another v600i which does not have the same problem, it
works fine on GSM.

do you think this is software/firmware related? could it be a "bad" unlock
issue?

is there anyway i could remedy the problem?

thanks in advance.

Ste.
