okay guys, isnt really a big problem, not sony's fault, but today i brought my sony ericsson w950i, and i love it. well, heres my problem, i brought the phone from a shop, SIM FREE! and the guy told me that internet will never work on it, not that i listenend to him haha, since i wanted this phoen when i first saw its pictures, i put my o2 sim in it, tried everythign does not work....i really want internet on this phone as i will be on it al the time, buying thing etc, viewing greta stuff, but its not workign out, any help and i will eb highly thankfull!!!!

Welcome to Esato.Take it back and 1,make them get the internet working as its a wap phone,and 2,if they cant get it to work,ask for your money back.

Cant u just phone O2 and ask them for internet settings for your phone or a phone similar to yours if they dont hav yorz listed

Go down the orange shop and pick yourself up a sim only 3G card. Plug in - Register and then download the orange settings to it. It should work fine.
O2 should also work. Plugging in the old card is not enough... you need to setup the phone with the O2 Internet settings. (assuming your card/account allows it)

It shouldt take too long normally its instant... what country are you in? make sure you enter your phone number in the international format

eg in the uk if your number is 0700000000

you need to enter +4470000000

Try it again, If it doesnt arrive then post back here and il help u set it up manually. Pretty easy.

I know it's not any help, but just sounds weird they told you it would never work with the internet.

If you can't get it working (and there's no reason why you shouldn't!) then perhaps you can name and shame the shop you got it from!

I just got a W950i from O2, it came with a new 3G sim but no i have it in and powered up its contact your service provider, i went onto o2 and download the setting as i always do with a new phone but as i have my old sim too all the messages go there, i no i havent changed my number so how do i get the settings to go on the new phone.
