elo all,

please help me find sony ericsson that support both Edge n 3g

i live in malaysia and always be in two different places where a place with 3g and no 3g(but that place support edge) my network provide both services, Edge(digi network) and 3g(maxis network).

i want to stay connect to internet using my lptop and phone as modem. so please help find sony ericsson that support both Edge n 3g. i try browsing www.sonyericssom.com.my for malaysian phone but fail to find one. and US version (sonyericsson.com) phone model is different from phone in (sonyericssom.com.my). little bit confuse. so i have no idea how to get sonyericsson phone that offer both.

network provider digi told that w900i have edge but this link said no edge on w900i http://www.sonyericsson.com/s[....]emplate=pip3&zone=pp&pid=10333

is umts a tech that also allow edge?

2 questions:
1) what are sonyericsson phone that support edge and 3g?
2) is umts a tech that also allow edge?

yea, it is hard for you to share EDGE & 3G on a phone, but more and more people choose 3G network to do it, because 3G is not only stable but also strong features, will be more popular in almost country, wireless internet and watch 3gp movie anywhere and anytime with video to 3gp converter

is your connection to the world of media and to entertainment-loving people like myself,my nokia w800i support 3G very wll,

Have to agree. Try the Nokia N73 or the 6233 - both have EDGE and 3G.

I was hoping that the SE W880i would have both EDGE and 3G, but no such luck.

Rant: Why can't SE release a phone with Quad-Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and 3G? It's not so difficult, many of the other major manufacturers do it!
