> Have I now got an O2 3G sim card?
Bookmark topic
I recently lost my phone (found it again luckily!) and had the sim card blocked, so O2 sent out a new contract sim to me.
I've put the sim into a 3G phone and forgot to turn the dual mode off, and was surprised to see I'm getting a 3G signal, which I never did before!
Does this mean that if I go online whilst in a 3G signal area I'm getting 3G data rates? Or is it just telling me it's there but I can't actually access it, and can only browse via GPRS?

if you look on the back of the sim card it will say 3GD2+ in the bottom left and 23GPUNI under the O2 logo. If it has those on then its a 3G sim. Dont know about other network sim cards though.

Looks like I do have a 3G sim!
Says '3GD4' then the bottom line has the 23GPUNI on it!
Next question - does the 3G work with the standard settings I've been using for ages - i.e. Mobileweb etc.?
@Kerry - now now, no handbags at dawn in my thread!

I'm guessing the 3G is even more expensive than the usual then! might stick the phone back into 2g only if that's the case!
