when i take a photo through the k800.. a red light flashes while wuto focusing..
when it happens..people ger worried thinkin it is harmful to the eye..thinking it may cause problems in them..
is this light an infra red light? would it cause harm if it falls on the eye? please let me know.

Ask yourself, do you really think SE would put a harmful light on something that supposed to be pointed at peoples faces?


It's just the focusing light so the camera knows how far away the objects are, and if it was Infrared, you wouldn't be able to see it. Like you can't see the light at the end of your TV remote...

I am sure it is in the manual whast the red light is for. The red light is the same as on most digital cameras these days. Its not there to cause permanent blindness.

actually the people who i took photos of were dead scared about it and they wanted to make sure that i wernt making them blind.. hehe

lol the xenon flash probably does more damage to the eyes than the auto-focus light
