I'd buy one. If not only to have a spare should the original become damaged. Like the idea of maybe getting one with an improved keypad too...

At least here in my country (Greece) spare covers (original) are available to all service centers. The cover costs around 41 € and they place it also on the phone...

Oh... so you can't change it yourself?

But when you let a service center change cover, they'll keep the old one.

And if we change covers ourselves, we loose the gurantee.

How is this supposed to work?

Is there an easy way of taking of the cover? Cause I can't figure out how to do it whithout leaving a couple of scratches here and there..

First of all, if you ask the old one, they should give it to you at once. I did it...
It is not necessary to do any scratches in order to open it! Its easy. I have posted again in a realted discussion here in Esato. Search to find it. But if you are unfamiliar with such things, just let the do it for you.

P.S.
If you open it carefully there is no way for the service to find out that the phone was opened. There is no seal or something to prove this. So the warranty is not broken.
