Looks like Ceaser (the OP) hasn't been on since around February.... Who wants to jump in and update the history?

Due to a bug at the Esato host server we had to cancel the December 2015 shootout.

I want to give 9_Destiny an overwhelming standing ovation for his 9th victory in November '15
He taught us that nothing is impossible if you take enough time to prepare and organize your photo. 🍓 Thanks.

Hi guys!

I'd like to give you all a little insight into where the photography skills I learned posting to the Photo Competition thread has taken me.

I learnt about the rule-of-thirds, composition and use of lighting while trying to overcome the limitations of 2.0Mp and 3.2Mp featurephones back in the day. Posting to the Photo Competition thread was a great incentive to learn and from 2011 I began to utilise those skills in my day job working for a Porsche dealer.

I took over the much-hated task of photographing (with a DSLR not a camphone) the cars for sale online and uploading the advertising listings. I became very good at this and the dealership's image improved along with it's sales and the profit margin per car. My work was praised by the Porsche Business Excellence Division during an audit and described as 'best practice' among Australasian Porsche dealers.

Later, an opportunity came along to become self-employed photographing (and writing listings for) high end cars for sale online and I did this for the same Porsche dealership, their Ferrari dealership and also a Maserati / Lotus dealership I was familiar with. Both had improved sales but unfortunately, due to industry pressures their upper management decided to take this practice in-house, effectively barring me from assisting these dealers. Their advertising has since deteriorated... c'est la vie.

I'd like to thank the Esato members for creating and maintaining the Photo Competition thread and especially those members who vote for it's participants. You never know where it might lead.

Here's a few photos from my short-lived but very enjoyable business opportunity. And yes, I did get to drive these cars to the photo locations.

Porsche 911 GT3 (997)

2013 Ferrari 458 Spider

2016 Ferrari California T (brand new at the time)

2015 Mercedes Benz S63 AMG Coupe
