Hi, I'm thinking of switching to the Xperia z3 from my current iphone 4 (have been using iphones all my life so this would be quite a big change for me). I was just wondering if you guys could tell me a bit more about the camera's performances. Sony seems to me like a brand that always provides very decent cameras (and reviews say the same) but a colleague of mine is saying that I should just stick with iphones because according to him their cameras are even better. I know this might be a pretty biased place to ask, but I hope you can give me your objective opinions.

Also, are there any good Android camera apps you guys would recommend? I'm currently using "Candy Camera" for my every-day pictures (selfies mostly xD) and wonder if there are different/better ones for Android

@Sassho
I don't know If you own the Xperia Z3 or any other Xperia Zs for that matter?
To say the camera is of poor quality is just a lie.

@mattrix
I own the Xperia Z3 and the Galaxy Note 3 at the moment (I'm still waiting for the blue Galaxy S6 to become available).
Going from where you are right now is going to be a huge difference when switching to the Xperia Z3 from the iPhone 4.
Everything is going to be different in terms of experience. The camera UI is different and perhaps not the easiest by today's standard. I would say it's a little bit cluttered. Fear not though because it isn't hard to learn. What this phone can produce in terms of quality is nothing to be afraid of really.

Check out my images from my Dropbox.

The image quality is not comparable to today's Flagship, nor should it be since it's a yesterday's flagship. However, stating the Xperia Z3 has a very poor image quality is just a big lie based on assumption. Now you have proof to debunk that.

Regarding the shots themselves. Some were taken at UCLA, Griffin Park, a Chinese restaurant, on the road somewhere in LA and in Mexico.

Well I gotta say that Z3 camera is pretty good. Was not really into Z1 and Z2 camera performance, but I bought Z3 as it was looking good in GSMArena. And I'm happy with my choice. The phone is awesome and offers good camera quality.

Here are some shots I took previous weekend.

2012 - present: Nokia 808

Hi @cu015170 , I had in mind the Best sensors for normal Android phones , not old-school Nokian , Lumias and other relics

Best sensor for Android-phones? Really scraping the bottom of the barrel there, aren't you?
Except for the expensive Panasonic CM1, has there been any really good cameras in Android phones?
