Although with new compression, 4K recording is still going to use up a LOT of storage. That and now finally with Files app with direct folder access to iCloud folders ... iCloud storage is going to also be used up quite fast. I've yet to meet anyone with just an iPhone or iPhone, AW, and 1 Mac (I have iPhone 7 and Nike+ Series 2) to purchase more iCloud storage. So makes sense to get teh 256GB version for iPhone 8 if someone is going new.
Personally not enough to go full on iPhone 8. iOS 11 runs smooth like button on my iPhone 7, plus I'd rather the refinement in the cpu/gpu on next years version - although the 8 and 10 have the same chips and significantly faster ... but let's be honest this is iOS. We're not going to see major difference in most actions UNLESS recording video - playing/recording music directly to the phone using iRig etc. 7MP front camera would be nice but I'm a man, not some selfie 14-21yr old female trying to get hits on Instagram, SnapChat, for breasts and booty shots lol.
Get quality iPhone 7, with ability to extend AppleCare+ (90days from original purchase) and enjoy for at least another year. Wait until the new iPhone 2018 where it uses the X's design as a standard across all models.
