Finding it hard getting used to not having the Album App. Why is the 'Music' app still there but not the 'Album' app?

Yes, the Sony's album app is really good. sad to see it is not available anymore. I have to download the album apk and use the app.

Thanks.

Is there a bug with notification sounds for SMS? I have tried setting a custom tone but there is no sound when I receive text messages.

Edit: Fixed

How do I grant access to the SD card from the Album App?

I was lucky to find a dual-sim iv for £780. I dread to think what the next Pro-i will cost. The original Pro-i is still very much out of my price range. I'd have to sell a kidney.

I thought all iv's were dual sim. Anyway, it also supports E-sim, so if you use that for one of the phone subscriptions, the slot for the second SIM can be used for a memory card instead. It supports up to 1TB .

I believe that the Album app wasn't there even in the first Xperia 1, i.e. mk 1. Anyway, Google's generic Android app "Photos" functions good enough once you get used to it imho. I think the disappearance of the app is due to that Sony's shrinking phone development department and hence they want to keep the number of Sony-specific apps to maintain to the minimum.
The Music app, however has its roots in the Walkman days and it is more in the Sony's line of trade. There is possibly also a stronger connection between the software and the hardware for audio than it is for pictures. And I do not think there is a good Google replacement.

I'm still unable to delete photos from the Album app. I get this message:

Then it takes me to the Files App but there is no option to grant permission.
