@ferrarista44, excellent point.

But most people I know, would borrow a phone just to send an SMS, not to make a call.

im not saying that i cannot afford to call.. most of the time i do.. but when the time comes that i have to text i find it difficult to do so.
With the cut-down text plan that globe did, nowadays its more practical to call than to text. Believe me I DO CALL MORE OFTEN than using the SMS.
You just have to face the fact that texting using the T68 is much harder than Nokia phones. But the rest of the other functions, Nokia lags Ericsson.
Kaya nga i was asking for your opinion if there is anyone out there who knows a BETTER TECHNIQUE OR METHOD in texting using his/her T68 that maybe i haven't discovered.
This question was raised not for the main purpose of the phone (calling or texting or GPRS) but because before i switched i knew the PROS/CONS of having one.

I can see how you react when a small shortcoming on your T68 (like difficulty in texting) is brought out....it amazes me on how grown men act like kids.

No phone out there is perfect, maybe near to perfection but still has some ironing worked out.

@GRIFTER
You can make the write new SMS function as your number 1 shortcut.

If you want to send an SMS, you push up the joystick key(? Well on the T39, we just press and hold the up arrow key for a while)

Keep cool peeps. I guess Ferrarista44 was only stating that as POV (designed for calls, etc), not to raise a judgement statement of who can (or cannot) afford to make calls.
