I have tried to do that when I still had my t68 and managed to get as far as half the google home page before everything got pearshaped. Anyone have success with this?
Also, some gsm software, none of which I've tried though:

Just a thought: as so many of us seem to be using our SE phones in conjunction with our PCs of what ever type, would it be possible to set up 'forums' specifically for PC and Mac users, one for each?
I know there is the 'Technical' forum but as it seems to cover such a wide range of technical matters, often just related to phone issues, it is hard to find specific info about phone/computer issues when using the Esato search function.
I would be interested to know what you/other Esato memebers think.

I didn't mean to hijack the thread, sorry about that.
With regrad to installing the .sis from a MAC, as I said above I think the best way is to beam the file to the p800/900 and then run the sis file from the phone then after installing delete the original sis file. This will require more space on the memory but that will be regained after deleting the original sis file.

Connecting a MAC to your phone to get an internet connection is fairly easy as well. Note that you should have GPRS set up with your service provider! Regular dail up speeds might not satisfy you!
At first, you should get a modem script for your phone! Best source is
http://www.taniwha.org.uk/ where you find other useful stuff like APN settings for your service...
On OS X, create a new network location and configure the TCP/IP to be PPP. Under PPP choose a name for the service, enter the user name and password and enter the APN under "telephone number".
Under "Bluetooth Modem", you'll have to pick a modem script and there you go!

@s40convert The APN thing is why I had so many problems when I tried to go on the net with my t68 - I think I must have been using WAP as I had a phone number, *not* an APN number to 'dial-up' with.

Ehm, the following is the difficult process I had to go through in order to backup my phone and transfer files between my T610 and my pBook (both on Jaguar and Panther):
SYNCHRONISATION
- Connect the Bluetooth dongle to Mac (recognized and ready for usage after 3 sec.)
- Start iSync, search for new device, synchronize
FILE EXCHANGE:
- Right click on the Bluetooth icon on the menu bar, browse device, drag & drop files back and forth in FTP style.
I never had to install 3rd party software, drivers, or ANY kind on stuff that makes your life difficult... Cause after all, it's a Mac!
NOW, I would REALLY like someone to tell me, HOW much more userfriendly can something get? You people running other OS, you go through this in some easier way? What? You just point your phone to your screen and you 'beam' all the processes, or something?
Anyways, as for the rest of the Mac'ers, I can't see any greater value of these 3rd party software. iSync + Bluetooth File Exchange + Address Book + iCal = Complete communication with my mobile.

Like it is titled, I exchange any kind of file between my Mac and my T610 (Images, sounds, themes, games, programs, contacts, etc.) either by dragging and dropping the file on the Dock, or by browsing my mobile and do it via FTP style.

Address Book
Organize the phonebook entries (Name, phone numbers, email, etc.), add and remove entries, AND, one of the COOLEST features, send and receive SMS messages on your computer's screen(!!!) while you continue working on your current programs (without even touching the mobile)

iCal
Organize calendar entries, add and remove entries, etc.
...And best of all, all of these generously included in your Mac OS!
PS. Yes, I know, with PhoneAgent for instance, you can create on your computer's screen the MMSes and send the on. But is it REALLY worth 30 bucks just for such details? Don't you think someone can make it just with your OS's utilities? Unless, you are really lazy or you want to show-off by changing song on iTunes, from your couch, through your mobile, then OK... Salling Clicker it is...
