But in suburban areas where the underground copper wiring used to be connected 30 years ago to dial phones (I remember those) and rural low density areas especially the third world, Wireless connections are the future. HSDPA wnd WiMax will soon overtake the speed of broadband in these areas and provide connections where broadband is not available.
Constant improvement of underground cabling in all but 'flagship' urban commercial and government buildings will become impractical, I suspect.
I've been trying to jettison the landline for over 18 months. Finally Vodafone NZ have come to the party. WiMaxand UMTS/HSDPA leave landlines for dead IMO.
